Stop the Agony of Depression and Trauma
Find out how counselling can help…
Depression is one of the most common reasons people come to counselling.
If you suffer from depression, your world can feel like you’re living in a dark hole. You may not have the energy to find your way out.
You might feel sad, disengaged from the world, and don’t care about anything.
At its worst, depression can be completely debilitating.
You don’t want to engage in any activities—even getting out of bed can seem like a major feat!
Perhaps over time, you’ve become increasingly miserable…or maybe you’ve been feeling this way much of your life.
If you also suffer from anxiety, life may be unbearable at times.
The Root Cause of Depression is Often a Distressing Childhood or Another Traumatic Event
If you struggle with ongoing depression, the source of it is likely due to a difficult childhood where you didn’t receive the love you needed, and/or you experienced emotional, physical or sexual abuse.
OR…
It could also be that you’ve experienced a traumatic event at some point in your life, or several traumatic events that have not healed.
It may be difficult to believe that your depression is a symptom of past trauma but it almost always is at the source of chronic depression and anxiety.
The good news is that regardless of how long you’ve suffered, you can overcome depression.
Whatever your situation, as a therapist, I can help…
